At a CDWP meeting presided over by the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission,Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, cleared thirteen development projects with a costof Rs. 38 billion in the forum.
Senior officials from Planning Commission and Federal Ministries/Divisionsalso participated in the meeting while representatives from ProvincialGovernments participated through video conferences.——————————
Projects related to Education, Energy, Health, Higher Education, Industries& Commerce, Physical Planning & Housing, and Water Resources wereconsidered in the meeting. Another project related to Education presentedin the forum, titled “Establishment of Cadet College Gwadar,” worth Rs.1883.48 million was approved in the meeting. The main objective of theproject is to provide quality education to the residents of the area.
Additionally, a project related to Energy, presented in the meeting, namely“Hiring of Consultancy Services for Development of Strategic UndergroundGas Storage (SUGS),” worth Rs. 1848 million was also approved by the CDWP.
Three projects related to Health, presented in the meeting, namely“Establishment of Cardiology Unit & Burn/ Trauma Unit at Cat-A DHQ HospitalMalakand at Batkhela,” worth Rs. 1123.629 million, and “Up-gradation ofInstitute of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology, Lahore,” worth Rs. 2060.737million, and “COVID-19 Emergency Response and Ensuring Universal HealthCoverage in Islamabad Capital Territory”, worth Rs. 2482.44 million wereapproved by the CDWP forum.
A project related to the Higher Education Commission, presented in theforum, namely “Strengthening of Islamia University Bahawalpur,” worth Rs.4090.294 million was approved by CDWP.
A project related to Industries & Commerce, presented in the meeting,namely “Refurbishment & Modernization of Heavy Foundry & Forge Facility atHMC,” worth Rs. 1508.264 million was approved in the meeting. The mainobjective of the project is the modernization of the Steel-making area,refurbishment of 3150 tons Hydraulic Forging Press, up-gradation andautomation of Ingot Heating Furnaces, installation of new ForgingManipulator with a lifting capacity of 25 tons, etc.——————————

Two projects related to Physical Planning & Housing, presented in themeeting, namely “Construction of Khall Greater Water Supply Scheme DistrictLower Dir,” worth Rs. 852.516 million, and “Construction of Gravity BasedWater Supply Schemes and rehabilitation of Existing Infrastructure forTehsil Matta to Kuza Bandai and Tehsil Khwazakhela to Charbagh, Swat,”worth Rs. 5916.935 million were approved in the meeting.
Four projects related to Water Resources, presented in the meeting, namely“Command Area Development Works of Kaitu Weir Irrigation & Power project ofKurram Tangi Dam,” worth Rs. 2946.526 million, and “FATA Water ResourcesDevelopment Project,” worth Rs. 6078.360 million, and “Construction ofShehzanik Dam in District Gwadar Southern Balochistan,” worth Rs. 2630.29million, and “Construction of Sunni Gar Dam Project District KhuzdarSouthern Balochistan,” worth Rs. 4456.461 million were also approved by theCDWP forum.
