Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Religious Harmony Tahir MehmoodAshrafi announced on Saturday that Saudi Arabia has allowed pilgrims fromPakistan to perform Hajj this year.
In a tweet, Ashrafi said that 60,000 pilgrims from across the globe wouldbe able to perform Hajj this year, adding that vaccination against COVID-19had been declared a must for every traveller to the holy land.
He said that details of the quota allotted to Pakistan would be sharedlater, adding that every pilgrim would have to quarantine himself for threedays after reaching the Arab country and before heading to the pilgrimage.
He said that pilgrims below the age of 18 and above 60 could not performHajj this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
