RIYADH – Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister on Sunday condemned Israel’s”flagrant violations” of Palestinian rights and called on the internationalcommunity to act urgently to put an end to military operations.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud was speaking in televised remarks at thestart of an emergency virtual meeting of the 57-member Organisation ofIslamic Cooperation (OIC) as hostilities between Israel and militants inGaza entered their seventh day.

The Saudi foreign minister condemned what he called the violation of thesanctity of Islamic holy sites and “forcible” eviction of Palestinians fromtheir homes in East Jerusalem.

He called on the international community to carry out its responsibilitytoward ending this “dangerous escalation”, to act urgently to halt militaryoperations and to revive peace negotiations based on a two-state solution.
