JEDDAH – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday condemnedIsraeli attacks on Palestinians and warned about the consequences ofIsrael’s deliberate inflammation of religious sensibilities and provocationof Palestinians and the Muslim world.
A resolution adopted by the OIClinkCommittee at the level of foreign ministers against the Israeli aggressionin the Palestinian territories, in particular Al-Quds Al-Shareef, says:“[It] condemns in the strongest terms the barbaric attacks launched byIsrael link, the occupyingauthority, against the Palestinian people and their land and holy sites;demands complete and immediate stop of these attacks that have affectedinnocent civilians and their properties, in gross violation ofinternational law and United Nations resolutions on the question ofPalestine; and warns that the continuation of and incitement to theseattacks and provocations, the threat on the lives of innocent civilians,causing severe suffering to them increase the risks of instability, withserious implications for security in and outside of the region.”
The resolution “warns, in particular, against the dangerous effects ofIsrael’s continued and deliberate inflammation and provocation of thereligious sensibilities and feelings of the Palestinian people and theentire Islamic ummah with its heightened attacks on worshippers, especiallystarting from the beginning of Ramadan, blocking worshippers’ access to theholy sites to perform their religious rites, including Muslims’ access tothe Al-Aqsa Mosque and Christians’ access to the Church of Holy Sepulchreduring the Easter celebrations, violent storming of the Al-AqsaMosque/Al-Haram Al-Shareef by the occupation forces, terrorising andattacking peaceful worshippers, in flagrant violation of internationalhumanitarian law”.
The OIC link resolution “demands astop to all violations being carried out by Israellink, the occupying authority,including disrespect for the holy sites, in particular, the sacredness ofthe Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Shareef, and not to undermine theirhistorical and legal status; reiterates that Israellink is an occupation force anddoes not possess any legitimate right whatsoever on occupied Palestinianland, including East Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Shareef,and that all measures undermining its status are null and void and of nolegal effect”.

At the emergency virtual meeting in Jeddah, OIClink Secretary General Yousef binAhmad Al-Othaimeen said: “We salute the resilience of the Palestinianpeople in Al-Aqsa; Al-Quds is an integral part of Palestinelink.”
As Israel link continues to carryout airstrikes on Palestinians, at least 188 people, including 55 children,have been killed in seven days of the conflict, according to the Gazalink Health Ministry. Another 1,230Palestinians were wounded in the Israeli airstrikes.
