China has called for efforts to promote peace in Yemen and providehumanitarian assistance to the country.

China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Zhang Jun said thereis a need to mobilize every diplomatic effort and to work strenuouslytoward a cease-fire in Yemen.

The UN Secretary General’s special envoy for Yemen said there is nomilitary solution to the conflict and political solution is in theinterests of all parties.

He said China welcomes the positive signals from Saudi Arabia and theYemeni government for a peaceful resolution of the conflict and theircommitments in this regard.
