ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan said that no attention was paidto the agricultural sector of the country after 1960 but now thedevelopment of agricultural sector is one of the top priorities andgovernment will take all possible steps in this regard.
The prime minister said while chairing the meeting of National CoordinatingCommittee (NCC) on Agriculture. Addressing the meeting, he said keeping inview the role of the agricultural sector in the development of the countryand the well-being of the farmers, the present government is committed tosupporting this sector on a priority basis.
The prime minister directed to formulate a roadmap to ensure provision ofmore facilities and conducive environment to the farmers and rehabilitationof various sectors of agriculture under the new vision of agriculturaldevelopment across the country.
The meeting was briefed in detail on the integrated strategy forimplementation of short, medium and long term roadmap for the developmentof the country’s agricultural sector, restoration of livestock andprosperity of the farmers in consultation with all stakeholders.
