Pakistan expresses solidarity with Iraq over deadliest accident

ISLAMABAD – In Iraq, eighty- two people have died and one hundred teninjured in a catastrophic fire at the intensive care unit of a Baghdadhospital.

According to the initial reports, the incident occured when an oxygencylinder exploded in the ward of the hospital tending to severe coronaviruspatients.

The Health Ministry said ambulances transported dozens of wounded rescuingat least two hundred people from the scene.

In a tweet today (Saturday), Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid HafeezChaudhri extends heartfelt condolences to the Government and brotherlypeople of Iraq on the loss of precious lives in the tragic incident of Ibnal-Khatib Hospital, Baghdad.

He said our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
