US Charge d’ Affairs to Pakistan Mrs Angela Ageler Thursday called onGeneral Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
According to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting,matters of mutual interest and overall regional security situationincluding recent developments in the Afghan Peace Process were discussed indetail.
COAS welcomed President Biden’s announcement of the withdrawal of US forcesfrom Afganistan by September 2021. He further reiterated that a prosperous,stable and peaceful Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan inparticular and the region in general. COAS also hoped for greater Pak-USbilateral cooperation in all domains in future, the statement added.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s sincere efforts for bringingpeace and stability in the region, especially the Afghan Peace Process andalso assured of US continued assistance for the common cause of peace inAfghanistan.
Earlier the day, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwavisited Fauji Foundation Headquarters in Rawalpindi and inaugurated the100-bed hospital.
According to a statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations(ISPR), the CAOS also inaugurated the Foundation University InstituteSchool of Nursing.
Following the occasion, he was given a detailed briefing on ongoing andfuture projects of the Fauji Foundation and appreciated the performance andcommitment of the foundation towards the provision of quality services andassured of his full support in all its future endeavours.
The Fauji Foundation was established as a charitable trust in 1954 and isbeing operated on a completely self-sustaining basis.
It is spending over Rs. 23.8 billion since inception on welfare.
The Foundation provides services in the areas of healthcare, education,educational stipends, technical and vocational training.
