India strongly irked over Chinese Foreign Ministry bashing on Ladakh standoff

India on Friday said the military standoff in eastern Ladakh in the lastsix months has been a result of the actions by China which sought to effecta unilateral change in the status along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Blaming China, the government said it expects the Chinese side to match itscommitment of respecting border agreements with actions on the ground.Advertisement

“We have taken note of the Chinese side’s statement that it observes’strictly the agreements between the two sides and is committed toresolving the border issue through dialogue and safeguarding peace andtranquillity’ in the border areas. We expect that the Chinese side willmatch its words with actions,” MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said.

The comments by the MEA came at a media briefing when asked about the freshcomments by the Chinese foreign ministry blaming India again for the bordersituation in eastern Ladakh.
