Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said a peaceful and stableAfghanistan would help realize regional connectivity and facilitateeconomic development.

He was talking to Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Najibullah Alikhil who paida courtesy call on him in Islamabad today.

The Foreign Minister welcomed the recent agreement on rules and proceduresbetween the Afghan parties in Doha and reiterated Pakistan’s continuoussupport for a peaceful, stable and sovereign Afghanistan.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s landmark visit to Afghanistan, theForeign Minister remarked that the visit built on the sustained engagementswitnessed in the recent months between the two countries. He said theShared Vision document issued during the Prime Minister’s visit had laiddown the framework for a forward-looking comprehensive bilateralpartnership.

Ambassador Alikhil appreciated Pakistan’s positive contribution to theAfghan peace process.
