ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted a high-level committeeto overhaul the visa policy of Pakistan so that tourism and foreigninvestments could be encouraged.
The first session of the newly formed committee was held on Monday underthe chairmanship of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. The meeting wasattended by Special Advisor to PM on National Security Moeed Yusuf andAdviser to PM on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood.
Stressing the need to realise the potential of tourism and investment inPakistan, Qureshi said that the committee would strive to make the e-visapolicy more effective and result-oriented, besides presenting itsrecommendations to the federal cabinet for approval.
The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) chairman on theoccasion briefed the meeting on the huddles being faced in the country’svisa policy. He informed that the e-visa policy has been functional for thepast one-and-a-half-year in Pakistan.
