Indian farmers deadlock with the government intensified

In India, thousands of farmers have intensified their protests by blockinghighways and holding gathering in the outskirts of New Delhi.

Farmers are holding protest against the newly passed farm bills by theBJP-led government.

The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to make any progressin breaking the deadlock over set of laws passed by parliament in September.

Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressing concern overfarmers’ protest, has again urged India to uphold the right to peacefulprotests.

Speaking at a press conference after Indian External Affairs Ministryissued a demarche to Canadian High Commissioner, Trudeau said Canada willalways stand up for the right of peaceful protests anywhere around theworld.
