Israeli and Jordanian foreign ministers held a secret meeting on bilateralissues at the Israel-Jordan border on Thursday, according to an Israelinewspaper.

Israel’s Walla News reported that Israel’s Gabi Ashkenazi and Jordan’sAyman Safadi had met at the Allenby Bridge, known as the King HusseinBridge.

The meeting reportedly discussed the resumption of negotiations betweenPalestine and Israel and the economic issues between Jordan and Israel.

In the meeting, it was also conveyed to the Amman administration that USPresident-elect Joe Biden wants to restart the peace process between Israeland Palestine after taking the office.

After the news appeared in the Israeli press, the Jordanian ForeignMinistry confirmed the meeting between Safadi and Ashkenazi in a writtenstatement.

According to the ministry’s statement, Safadi said at the meeting thatIsrael should stop all measures that undermine the peace process and thetwo-state solution.​​​​​​​ – Anadolu Agency
