Prime Minister Imran Khan had a meeting with renowned American singer andactress Cher on Friday.
As per the details, Cher had arrived in Pakistan to send off Kaavan, anelephant she has struggled for years trying to free. The elephant has beentaken to a sanctuary in Cambodia on Sunday.
PM Imran Khan applauded Cher’s efforts to help the 36-year-old elephant,which was living at Islamabad Zoo for a long time without a companion.
‘Goddess of Pop’ Cher took to Twitter and extended thanks after meeting thepremier on Friday “For Making It Possible for me to take Kaavan toCambodia”.

On the other hand, a statement from the PM’s office mentioned that Khan hadthanked Cher and invited her to take part in further environmentalactivities in Pakistan. He asked her to contribute to the government’splans for the expansion of protected areas. She agreed.
On the contrary, Cher has also appreciated PM’s initiative to make Pakistan“cleaner and greener”. She said both the ‘Protected Areas Initiative’ andthe ‘10 Billion Tree Tsunami’ projects of the government were highlycommendable and praiseworthy. She also offered support for continuing thegreen initiatives through her organization ‘Free the Wild’.
