ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has approved the policy toappoint legal advisors and advocates on the panel of the board.
According to an FBR press statement issued here on Tuesday, the policy wasapproved in the 6th Board-in-Council meeting held in the last week ofSeptember.
In the light of directions given by the prime minister, an amendment inRules of Business-1973 has been made, empowering the FBR to hire legaladvisors and advocates on FBR’s panel and fixing professional fees.
The policy envisages the eligibility, experience and selection process forappointment of advocates as panel advocates and legal advisors.

The appointment is defined to be made through advertisement process onmerit, the statement said adding that the policy also describes performancereview, code of conduct and de-notification from the panel of FBR.
