Pakistan Navy and Japan participated in the passage exercise Gulf of Adenas part of international efforts to counter piracy and ensure the securityof international shipping.
The exercise will further contribute to improving the bilateral tiesbetween the Pakistan Navy and the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force.
Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Zulfiquar participated with Japanese Maritime SelfDefense Force Ship Onami in Gulf of Aden. A statement issued by thePakistan Navy said that the passage exercise encompassed variousoperational serials with aim to enhance ‘interoperability and augmentcollaborative efforts to ensure maritime security in the region’.
