Leading Korean Automaker to launch two new models in Pakistan

In its previous stint in Pakistan, Hyundai had two cars in its lineup, i.e.the Santro hatchback and the Shehzore pickup truck. After some time though, the Korean automaker had to pack its bags and leave the country in 2010,shortly after its partner, Dewan Farooque Motors went bankrupt.

In 2017, Hyundai came back after a partnership with Nishat Group, and thistime, the company aims to target the upper segment of Pakistani motorists. The company launched the Hyundai Tucson crossover SUV in Pakistan back inAugust 2020 to compete in the recently growing crossover SUV market ofPakistan.

The new SUV generated a lot of buzz in the market and Hyundai Nishatreportedly received an incredibly overwhelming response from the buyers asthe bookings came flooding in for the new Hyundai Tucson.——————————

As of late, some unofficial news accompanied by photographs has surfaced onthe internet, suggesting that Hyundai might be launching the 3rd, moreaffordable ‘GLS’ variant of the Tucson in the Pakistani Market, followingthe high demand for the GLS Sport and the Ultimate variants.

An unofficial resource has also reported to ProPakistani that currently, the company is only carrying out test marketing for the new ‘GLS’ variant

The source also told us that the automaker is gearing up to introduce twomore passenger vehicles to the lineup in Pakistan in the 1st quarter of2021. When asked about further details of those cars, he told us that oneof the vehicles would be a family sedan.

As far as speculation goes, the two new vehicles are most likely to be theHyundai Elantra. Back in February 2020, in the PAPS Auto Show, HyundaiNishat revealed 3rd gen Tucson and 6th gen Elantra for the Pakistanimarket. Tuscon is already here, which means that Elantra should make itsdebut soon after.——————————

The other one is most likely to be the Hyundai Kona Hybrid. Hyundai Nishatalso posted a photo of the vehicle on their social media, perhaps to seekcustomer feedback on the car. However, we are yet to see what HyundaiNishat actually has in store for us.
