Amid the standoff at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India andChina, the United States on Thursday said that it has recognised the stateof Arunachal Pradesh as India’s territory for nearly six decades andstrongly opposes any unilateral attempts of advancing claim over it,indirectly targeting China.
“For nearly six decades the US has recognized Arunachal Pradesh as Indianterritory.
We strongly oppose any unilateral attempts to advance territorial claims byincursions, by military or civilian incursions across the established lineof actual control,” said a US Senior State Department official.

“For the disputed boundaries, all we can say is that we encourage India andChina to use their existing bilateral channels to discuss those.
