As per the latest updates, MG Motor is gearing up to make its debut in thePakistani market with crossover SUVs, due to their rising popularity in theregion. MG is all set to launch 2 compact crossover SUVs, the HS and anall-electric ZS EV, and a full-sized luxurious SUV, the MG Gloster.

The HS is a compact crossover SUV that has 2 common engine options, i.e.the 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that makes 169horsepower, and a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine thatmakes 231 horsepower. Both engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual, a6-speed DCT, or a 7-speed sportronic DCT gearbox.

Since it is a compact crossover SUV, it is likely to go up against thelikes of Honda Vezel/HR-V, Toyota C-HR, Corolla Cross, BAIC X25, and othersimilar vehicles in the market. The price of the HS is likely to be betweenRs. 4.5 million and Rs. 5 million.

The ZS EV is an all-electric version of the HS that has a 44.5 kWh batterythat powers a front-mounted electric motor that makes 105 kW (140horsepower) and 350 Newton/meters of torque. Even though the ZS EV is acompact crossover SUV, it is going to be in a segment of its own, at leastin the beginning given that it is an EV, which implies that the price ofthis SUV is likely to be priced between Rs. 5.5 million and Rs. 6 million.——————————
