New Gas and Condensate reserves found in Pakistan

The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), as the operator (95percent), and Government Holdings (Pvt) Ltd (5 percent), has discovered gasfrom its Exploratory Well, Sial-1, located in Hyderabad district, Sindh.

According to the notice issued to Pakistan Stock Exchange, the structure ofSial-1 was drilled and tested using OGDCL’s in-house expertise.

The well was drilled to a depth of 2442 meters. Based on logs data, thewell was tested at the rate of 1.146 million standard cubic feet per day(MMSCFD) of gas and 680 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate through 32/64”choke at wellhead flowing pressure of 460 pounds per square inch (Psi) fromLower Guru Formation.——————————

The discovery of Sial-1 is a result of the aggressive exploration strategyadopted by the company, the statement said.

It has opened a new avenue and would add to the hydrocarbon reserves baseof OGDCL and the country.

The strategy would also contribute to reducing the gap between the supplyand demand of oil and gas in the country through the exploitation ofindigenous resources.
