China’s former Defense Attache in South Asian countries Cheng Xizhong saysPakistan’s diplomatic efforts on Kashmir issue have achieved remarkableresults.

In an article in Beijing, he said the entire international community,including the United Nations, has realized that if the Kashmir issue is notresolved fairly, it will seriously affect regional stability and worldpeace.

Cheng pointed out that the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on lastThursday called on both India and Pakistan to come together and seriouslydiscuss their problems, stemming from the unresolved Kashmir dispute andalso offered his good offices for mediation.

Antonio Guterres emphasized that there is no “military solution” to thedecades-old conflict.
