PTI government to launch special package for the farmers

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan said Sunday that his government wouldsoon announce a special package for the small farmers in the light ofproposals being firmed up by a sub-committee of the federal cabinet.

The Prime Minister stated this while talking to Members of NationalAssembly (MNAs) from South Punjab, Dir and Swat here. The meeting alsodiscussed in detail the special package for farmers and South PunjabSecretariat.

Speaking to MNAs from South Punjab, Prime Minister said that South Punjabwas neglected in the past and its population was not given equalopportunities in education, health and employment.

He said that said the previous governments ignored South Punjab region anddiscriminated with the people in provision of education, health andemployment opportunities.

The meeting which focused on South Punjab Secretariat and farmers’ specialpackage was attended by Special Assistant to PM on Political Affairs MalikAmir Dogar and MNAs Aurangzeb Khan Khichi and Nur Muhammad Khan Bhabha.

The Prime Minister said that the purpose of establishing South PunjabSecretariat was to give special focus on development of the South Punjabdistricts. Aurangzeb Khichi put forward a proposal for establishment of acadet college in Vehari.

Prime Minister was also briefed by MNAs from Swat and Dir on the law andorder situation and development in their respective areas.

MNA Bashir Khan briefed the Prime Minister about providing employment tolocal population in under construction dams in Dir. He also briefed theprime minister on the promotion of tourism in Swat which was also castingpositive impacts on people’s lives.

Besides, he apprised the Prime Minister about his constituency’s problemsand steps taken for public welfare.
