Chinese scholar and former defense attaché in South Asian countries ChengXizhong says Pakistan’s self-reliance in weapons and equipment is conduciveto maintaining regional peace and stability.

He stated this while commenting on Pakistan’s successful test launch ofShaheen-III surface-to-surface ballistic missile.

Cheng Xizhong said in recent years, Pakistan has made persistent efforts inthe research and development of military hardware and has scored big pointsrapidly.

He said the enhancement of Pakistan’s self-reliance in weapons andequipment and strength of its armed forces are also conducive tosafeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and curbing regional warsor armed conflicts.
