In BJP Modi so called secular India, Amazon Show crew tender unconditional apology to Hindu fundamentalists

New Delhi: The cast and crew of Amazon Prime show Tandav have issuedunconditional apology after drama was accused by Hindu politicians ofhurting nationalistic and religious sentiments.

According to details, many of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders havecalled for the show to be removed and complaints have been filed in thepolice.

One member of the ruling BJP party said that the series is “deliberatelymocking Hindu gods”.

Tandav also involves slogans related to Kashmir which began to drawcriticism from members of Hindu-nationalist party BJP after its release.

Following the controversy, the director Ali Abbas Zafar issued an apologysaying Tandav is a work of fiction and any resemblance to acts and personsand events is purely coincidental

“The cast and crew of Tandav… unconditionally apologize if it hasunintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments,” he added.

The show starring, Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, and Mohammed ZeeshanAyyub, is loosely based on hit show House of Cards. The show quickly drewcriticism on social media post release with multiple cases filed againstthe series.

The show revolves around the life of Samar Pratap Singh (Saif Ali Khan), apolitician who is hoping his father Devki Nandan (Tigmanshu Dhulia), who isalso premier of India, will offer the role to him, but his father has otherplans in mind.
