NAB Chief refuses to succumb to any pressure over Accountability

Islamabad: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd)Javed Iqbal said that the body recovered Rs2.5 billion from accused personsthrough plea bargain for the first time in two years.

The anti-graft watchdog chief stated this during his visit to NAB’s Lahoreoffice, adding that the recovered amount was distributed among the victims.

Justice (retd) Iqbal said that NAB distributed Rs760 million among 3,000victims of Ferozpur Housing Society and Model Housing Enclave.

He said that the NAB has been making efforts for the rule of law in thecountry, adding that serving public is top priority of the department.

He also vowed to continue working on merit without succumbing to anypressure. He said that the department is open to receive constructivecriticism.

Justice Javed Iqbal said that the NAB produced the suspects in courtsimmediately after arresting them.
