Islamabad: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad announced on Wednesdaythat first passport will be issued to national without taking any fee.

He stated this during a visit of Islamabad International Airport. Theinterior minister said that 100,000 passports will be issued each day.

He said that Pakistan has announced online visa facility for 192 countries,adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted no hindrances in the onlinevisa facility.

Sheikh Rashid said that passport validation period for labourers has beenincreased to ten years, adding that e-passport service will be launched intwo months.

He said that overseas Pakistanis are country’s asset, adding that overseasPakistanis will be provided all facilities.

During the visit, the minister directed FIA’s Immigration, ASF and Customsto facilitate passengers at the airport.
