WhatsApp has announced that it will not suspend or delete the account ofany user amid debate on its new privacy policy that will come into effectfrom February 8.
The wiedly-used messaging app had previously stated that anyone who doesnot accept the new policy will not be able to use it.
WhatsApp in his today message on Twitter said, “Thank you to everyone who’sreached out. We’re still working to counter any confusion by communicatingdirectly with WhatsApp users.
“No one will have their account suspended or deleted on Feb 8 and we’ll bemoving back our business plans until after May,” it added.
“We will make sure users have plenty of time to review and understand theterms. Rest assured we never planned to delete any accounts based on thisand will not do so in the future,” it reiterated.
On January 12, the messaging app cleared the air after public raisedconcerns over the latest privacy police, stating: “Our privacy policyupdate does not affect the privacy of your messages with friends or family”.
