With Just over two months remaining, preparations for the sixth edition ofthe Pakistan Super League (PSL) are underway at a rapid pace. As PSL 5concluded last month, the window to organize the next event had alreadybeen very short.——————————
According to sources, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will finalize thepromotion and demotion in categories of local players in PSL 6 by today.This will provide the opportunity for the franchises to assemble theirsquad accordingly.
All the PSL franchises will be expected to announce a maximum of eightretentions within the next ten days. The players that are not retained willbe available to pick in the draft.
According to PCB, PSL 6 draft will be held on 8th January. National StadiumKarachi is the most likely venue for the event due to the COVID-19situation in the country, while Lahore and Multan are also being considered.——————————

PSL 6 will be held from February to March, despite a few grievances by somefranchises, who wanted it to be held later next year. PCB decided to holdit in the usual months because of an already tight schedule of the nationalteam.
PCB also had to look at the availability of the international players andmedia broadcasting rights deal.
