Pakistan Navy achieves an important milestone

ISLAMABAD – Induction ceremony of state-of-the-art Corvette, Pakistan NavyShip TABUK was held at Pakistan Navy Dockyard on Thursday.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi graced theoccasion as chief guest, says a press release issued by the Inter-ServicesPublic Relations (ISPR) Directorate.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest termed the induction of PNS TABUKas an important milestone in Pakistan Navy to enhance its operationalcapabilities.

The Admiral underscored that the new addition will contribute in promotingsafe and secure maritime environment in the region. He further highlightedthe importance of evolving geo-strategic environment in the region and needof a potent Naval Force to counter increasing maritime challenges. ThePakistan Navy contracted for the two YARMOOK class Corvettes in 2017. Thefirst ship of this class, PNS YARMOOK was inducted in July this year whilethe second ship PNS TABUK has also been inducted into the Fleet.

While highlighting the plight of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally OccupiedJammu & Kashmir (IIoJ&K), Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi paid tribute totheir exemplary struggle of self-determination against Indian oppression.

Later, the Naval Chief urged the officers and men of PNS TABUK to make fulluse of the combat potential of this modern warship in guarding the maritimeinterest of motherland. He also acknowledged M/s DAMEN Shipyards (Romania)for their cooperation and delivering high quality platforms to PakistanNavy. The induction ceremony was attended by senior naval officers.
