University of Health Sciences (UHS) has successfully completed thephase-III clinical trials of a Chinese vaccine. More than 3,000 volunteersfrom all over Pakistan had participated in these trials.
A formal ceremony to celebrate the successful conclusion of the vaccinetrials was held at UHS which was attended by Vice-Chancellor UHS, Prof.Javed Akram, and Chinese healthcare experts. Prof. Javed Akramcongratulated the Chinese delegation on achieving the milestone.——————————
While speaking with media outlets after the ceremony, Prof. Akram notedthat the vaccine has triggered the intended immune response among theparticipants, adding that detailed findings of the clinical trials will bepublished soon.
The candidate vaccine, known as Ad5-nCoV, has been developed by CanSinoBIO,a Chinese vaccine manufacturer, in collaboration with the Beijing Instituteof Biotechnology.
