PCB committee to submit findings over events leading to postponement of PSL 6

The two-member fact-finding committee will submit their findings of theevents that led up to the postponement of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 toPakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Ehsan Mani, by the end of the week.Originally the report was due to be submitted by 31 March, however, theprocess has been delayed by two days due to unknown reasons.——————————

PCB appointed a two-member committee, consisting of disease experts, SyedFaisal Mehmood and Salma Mohammad Abbas, to find out the reasons behind thepoor management of the bio-secure bubble and the spread of COVID-19 withinthe bubble during the sixth edition of PSL.

PSL 6 was postponed indefinitely as the conditions worsened and numerousplayers contracted the virus. The tournament got off on the wrong foot onthe eve of the opening match of the tournament. Peshawar Zalmi head coach,Darren Sammy, and captain, Wahab Riaz, violated the COVID-19 protocols asthey met with the franchise owner, Javed Afridi, who was not part of thebio-secure bubble.

Although the incident was not the main reason behind the COVID-19 outbreakin the camp, it did not portray a good picture.——————————

The tournament is rumored to restart in the month of June but the dateshave not been finalized as of yet. Previously, PCB had announced to releasethe schedule of the remaining games by the end of last week but nodevelopment has been made in this regard.
