India surrenders before PCB demands for upcoming T20 World Cup

According to sources, the Indian government is ready to grant visas to thePakistan team, officials, journalists, and fans for the upcoming T20 WorldCup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will provide writtenassurance to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the matter.——————————

Earlier, PCB had made it clear multiple times that they want writtenassurances that the Pakistani contingent will be allowed to travel to thecountry and even approached the International Cricket Council (ICC) toresolve the issue between the two boards. It looks like the BCCI hassuccumbed to the pressure of PCB’s persistence and is set to honor therequest.

According to reports, BCCI has received a guarantee and permission from theIndian government to provide security and grant visas to the people comingfrom Pakistan for the mega event. The relationship between the twoneighboring countries has been heading in a positive direction lately, andas a result, the Indian government has decided to ease its stance on theissue of granting visas.——————————

BCCI officials are set to announce the latest development in the upcomingtwo-day meeting of the ICC board, scheduled to be held on 31 March and 1April. BCCI is expected to make an official announcement during themeeting. PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani, will also be present in the virtualmeeting.

The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be played in India in October-November,with 16 international teams taking part in the tournament.
