PAF hosts multinational air exercise ACES MEET 2021 with Saudi Arabia, US and Iraq

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is hosting a multinational air exercise, ACES MEET2021, which will be attended by Saudi Arabia, United States, Iraq, andPalestine.

The two-week-long multinational air exercise starting from 27 March aims tomaximize the combat readiness of all the participants by providing themwith a realistic training environment for air combat and counterterrorismoperations.

A PAF spokesman, on the condition of anonymity, said,

The Royal Saudi Air Force and the United States Air Force will beparticipating with their aircraft. However, the Iraqi Air Force andPalestinian paratroopers will attend the exercise without fighter jets. Theexercise will help the participants benefit from each other’s diverseexperiences and different aircrafts operations.

Pakistan will use its F-16 and JF-17 fighter jets while the Saudi Air Forcewill bring Tornado aircraft.

“We have been part of different exercises with Saudi Arabia in the past.“Recently, we participated in Al-Saqoor II exercise in Saudi Arabia withour aircraft,” the spokesman remarked.

Similarly, Pakistan also participated in Qatar’s Zilzal exercise, Turkey’sAnatolian Eagle exercise, and China’s Shaheen exercise.——————————

“The full participation of the Royal Saudi Air Force is a reaffirmationthat both countries are doing their best to enhance bilateral cooperationand ties,” he observed.

The spokesperson said that COVID-19 SOPs will be followed strictly by allthe participants during this air exercise.
