PM Imran Khan seek debate on national security

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday in Islamabad launched the AdvisoryPortal of the National Security Division.

According to the details, Imran Khan attended the inaugural session ofNational Security Dialogue as the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that there is aneed to debate on the national security. Imran Khan said that the securityforces of Pakistan have sacrificed their lives to defend the borders and toprevail peace in the country. ‘The goals of national security are verybroad,’ said PM.

Imran said that Pakistan will benefit the most from regional peace, whereaswithout regional peace Pakistan’s geographical importance will be exploited.

Imran Khan said that, poverty is biggest challenge at the moment, andPakistan Tehreek e Insaf government is doing its best to overcome thecrisis. Prime Minister said that, a country that witnesses wobbling povertyis not safe. Imran Khan said that China lifted 700 million people out ofpoverty in 35 years. ‘Subsidies are provided to benefit the poor.’ PM said.

He also added that the matter of ‘climate change’ did not came underconsiderations in Pakistan during the past 5 years.

Commenting about the Afghan peace process, Prime Minister Imran Khan saidthat Islamabad is doing best to prevail peace on Afghan soil as regionalpeace depends on stable Afghanistan.

Earlier, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Moeed Yousuf said thatthey are working to highlight the positive aspects of Pakistan to the world.

The two-day conference is being organized by the National Security Divisionin collaboration with its Advisory Board, comprising five leading thinktanks of Pakistan.

This conference is based on a comprehensive security framework in line withPrime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of peace, regional connectivity anddevelopment partnerships with the global community.

Moreover, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa will bethe guest of honour on the second day of the conference.
