ISLAMABAD – Giving threats of terrorism in country, Minister for InteriorSheikh Rasheed on Monday has warned that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)is organizing again from Afghanistan.
Speaking to the journalists, the interior minister said that the policepersonnel have ensured peace in the country by risking their lives. He toldthat Karachi and Islamabad are under terror threats. “The brave soldiers ofsecurity forces have sacrificed their lives to defeat terrorism,” he added.
The reaction came after at least five terrorists were killed in encounterwith CTD in Mastung on Sunday night.
According to the CTD officials, when the police reached a house in Mastung,the terrorists hiding there in a house opened fire at the personnel. Fiveof the terror suspects were killed when the police returned fire. Othersmanaged to flee.
10 kilogrammes of explosives, detonators, and three Kalashanikovs wereseized from their possession.
The raid was conducted following information provided by an arrestedsuspect, CTD officials said, adding the terrorists were planning an attackin Quetta. The police are conducting raids to arrest the accomplices of thekilled terrorists.
Earlier on Sunday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said thesecurity forces conducted two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs)on terrorist hideouts in areas of North Waziristan and South Waziristan.
The intelligence-based raids were carried out in the Datakhel area of NorthWaziristan and Zoida area of South Waziristan.
