COAS General Qamar Bajwa message to forward troops in North and South Waziristan

RAWALPINDI – General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visitedNorth and South Waziristan Districts today, the military media wing stated.

According to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), COAS was briefed onprogress of border management regime, stabilization operations,socio-economic development projects including opening of border terminals.

COAS spent complete day with forward troops in Asman Manza, South Wazirstanand Mirali in North Wazirstan. While interacting with officers and men,COAS commended their commitment and professionalism in ensuring secure andconducive environment for implementation of writ of civil administration innewly merged tribal districts.

Pakistan is committed to peace and stability in the region and playing itspart by solidifying border security and capacity enhancement of FC / LEAs,COAS emphasised.

While interacting with tribal elders at Mir Ali, COAS appreciated them fortheir unflinching support and sacrifices in fight against terrorism.

COAS said that peace has largely returned to these areas. The hard-earnednormalcy will be retained and enhanced through collective efforts of thelocal population, civil administration and LEAs.

We have to remain vigilant and steadfast to thwart hostile attempts tocreate chaos and reverse the gains of Operation Radd ul Fasaad,” COASremarked.

To continue the journey towards enduring peace and development we need tostay determined and united, COAS concluded.

Earlier, on arrival, COAS was received by Corps Commander LieutenantGeneral Nauman Mahmood.
