In a major blow to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government, two of itsmembers of provincial assembly have declared that that they will not votefor their party’s candidates in senate polls.
Alleging favoritism and vote-selling in party, the MPAs said that fewcandidates were given tickets in exchange of money.
In a video message, PTI’s MPA Karim Bux Gabol, who was elected from PS-100Karachi East-II in the 2018 general elections, claimed that PTI distributedSenate tickets to candidates in exchange of money.
He further said that as per Constitution of Pakistan he is allowed to votefor any candidate and he would not support candidates who have “purchased”a ticket.
Criticizing the performance of ruling party, he said that PTI failed tolive up to people’s expectations.
“Sindh was being given step-motherly treatment by the federal government,”he said.
The video message of the PTI MPA has surfaced at a time when oppositionparties claiming to be in touch with disgruntled members of assembliesbelonging to PTI.
As per sources, there are several MPAs of ruling party and its coalitionpartners in Punjab and Sindh who are willing to give votes to candidates ofPakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM).
It is pertinent to mention here that senate elections are scheduled to beheld on March 03, where a tough comptition is expected between PTI’s AbdulHafeez Sheikh and PDM’s Yousaf Raza Gillani.
