PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto held important meeting with Maryam Nawaz in Jati Umra

LAHORE – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Thursdaymet PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz in Jati Umra.

Both the leaders have discussed ongoing political situation in the countryand strategy for upcoming Senate elections. They also deliberated upon thelong and short term strategy of their campaign against the incumbentgovernment.

Khawaja Saad Rafique and Pervaiz Rashid along with Maryam Nawaz welcomedthe PPP delegation.

Former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Qamar Zaman Kaira, ManzoorChaudhry and other PPP leaders were accompanied by the PPP chairman duringthe meeting to PML-N leader residence.

Earlier, addressing a press conference, Bilawal Bhutto has said that theopposition is giving a tough time to the government despite less votes. Hesaid that democracy and democratic institutions would win in the Senateelections. “The secret ballot in the Senate election cannot be challengedanywhere. However, it can be discussed that how it can be improved,” headded.

He said that t he no-confidence move and the long march will be discussedafter senate election. The PPP chairman said that this section of theCharter of Democracy can be applied in a democratic method,” he added.

The PPP chairman said that the government was nervous and knocking atanother door for help instead of approaching their members. “Insha Allah,they will not get an undemocratic support,” he added.

He said that the government had used cheap tactics for rigging in theby-election. “We should respect the aspirations of the masses and notsuccumb to any pressure,” he maintained.
