ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday termedthe attack of lawyers on judicial compound on February 8 as disgraceful andundignified and expressed his resolve that the act will be taken to itslogical conclusion so that it is never repeated again.
A single bench of IHC comprising Chief Justice of IHC Justice AtharMinallah made the remarks while hearing the matter against the lawyers whoinvolved in storming the judicial compound on February 8. During thehearing, a large number of the counsels appeared and strongly condemned thestorming of the high court on the 8th of February by a few enrolledadvocates. They unequivocally stated that they would not allow a handful ofenrolled advocates to tarnish the image of the entire legal fraternity.
Sohail Akbar Chaudhary and Imran Shaukat, Secretary and Vice President ofIslamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) respectively also appearedbefore the court and gave an assurance on behalf of the Association thatthose who were involved in the intolerable incident of storming of thecourt would definitely be proceeded against.

They stated that the Association has already condemned the incident andthat its members would always strive to uphold the dignity of the nobleprofession.
