PESHAWAR – The sources said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) hasdecided to replace some of its Senate candidates due to the reservationsfrom party leaderships.
According to the sources, the PTI is likely to take back the Senate ticketsfrom Faisal Vawda and Saifullah Abro. This step is being taken forcriticism from its key leaders from three zones of rural Sindh.
It was also reported that two changes are expected from the KP as the partyhas decided to withdraw a Senate ticket from Faisal Saleem, who would bereplaced by Liaqat Khan Tarqai, who is set to retire as Senator in Marchthis year.
Besides this, the sources privy to the matter said that the PTI has alsodecided to replace Naji Ullah Khattak, who would be replaced by Incharge ofthe KP CM complaint cell, Dilroz Khan. Dilroz Khan has submitted hisnomination papers from a technocrat seat in the province.
A meeting of the parliamentary board of the PTI was chaired by PrimeMinister (PM) Imran Khan in Islamabad on February 13, where he gave a nodto the party’s candidates for Senate elections.
During the meeting, the prime minister also said that the tickets will beawarded on the base of merit. He also said that he respected desires of theparty workers. Imran Khan also made reconciliation between KhyberPakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and former senior minister MohammadAtif Khan.
