Pakistani PM Imran Khan thanks overseas Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan says there was a record increase inremittances over the last eight months.

In his tweets on Monday, he said the remittances are up twenty-four percentcompared to the last year.

PM Imran added the remittances remained above two billion dollars over theeight consecutive months.

The remittances were 2.27 billion dollars in the month of January this yearwhich are 19 percent higher than the corresponding period last year.

He also thanked the overseas Pakistanis for sending record remittances.

Alluding to the industrial sector, the Prime Minister said it is alsoshowing sustained growth.

“Large scale manufacturing saw another double-digit growth of 11.4 percentin the month of December last year,” said the premier, sharing that thecumulative growth of the sector during the first six months of currentfiscal year is above eight percent.
