The petroleum group imports witnessed an increase of 100.78 percent, as itreached $12.941 billion in July-February 2021-22, which is the highest ever.
Pakistan had imported $6.445 billion during the same period of the lastfiscal year, says the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The exports and imports data released by the PBS revealed that thepetroleum group registered 17.74 percent decline in February 2022 andremained $1.245 billion when compared to $1.514 billion in January 2022;however, registered 54.74 percent growth on a year-on-year basis inFebruary 2022 when compared to $804.85 million during the same month oflast year.
The country’s textile group exports witnessed 26.08 percent growth duringthe first eight months (July-February) of the current fiscal year andremained $12.607 billion compared to $9.99 billion during the same periodof the last fiscal year. The textile group exports increased by 7.92percent on a month-on-month basis and remained at $1.674 billion inFebruary 2022 compared to $1.55 billion in January 2022.
