Former Indian SC Justice raises serious concerns over Indian Supreme Court inaction against calls of Muslims genocide

A former judge of the Indian Supreme Court, Justice Madan B. Lokur hasvoiced his great worry about the Indian Supreme Court’s inaction inresponse to the hate assembly’s calls for genocide against Muslims inHardiwar in December last year.

In an interview, Justice Lokur said he is terribly disappointed the SupremeCourt has not taken cognizance of the calls for genocide.

He said the Indian Supreme Court should have intervened promptly and hasboth a legal and moral obligation to do so.

He underlined that a call for genocide is the same as genocide itself, according to Article 3 of the Genocide Convention, to which India is asignatory.

As a result, India has committed genocide under the Convention, making theSupreme Court’s silence and lack of action all the more perplexing andtroubling.
