Prime Minister Imran Khan has welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin’sremarks in which he had said that blasphemy of Prophet Muhammad (Peace BeUpon Him) doesn’t count as the expression of artistic freedom.
In a tweet on Friday, the Prime Minister urged the Muslim leaders to thespread this message to leaders of the non-Muslim world to counterIslamophobia.
Meanwhile, in a tweet, Minister for Information and Broadcasting ChaudhryFawad Hussain said it is the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan that aninternational leader like Vladimir Putin is presenting his opinioncandidly.
Earlier, in his annual news conference Russian President Vladimir Putinsaid blasphemy of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) does not count asthe expression of artistic freedom.
He said passing derogatory remarks for the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be UponHim) are a violation of religious freedom and the violation of the sacredfeelings of people who profess Islam.
