United Nations has warned that constant violations of the rights ofPalestinians threaten the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinianconflict.
In a statement, the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres saidthat the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory including EastJerusalem continues to pose a significant challenge to international peaceand security.
He said persistent violations of the rights of Palestinians along with theexpansion of settlements risk is eroding the prospect of a two-statesolution.
He reiterated that the overall goal of two states living side by side inpeace and security remains as this includes fulfilling the legitimatenational aspirations of both peoples, with borders based on the 1967 linesand Jerusalem as the capital of both states.
