DUSHANBE – President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi on Sunday arrived inTurkmenistan to attend the 15th Summit of the Economic CooperationOrganization and called on Tajik President Emomali Rahmon during which bothleaders vowed to further strengthen bilateral relations.
Report of state broadcaster said President Alvi called on Tajik Presidenton his visit to Turkmenistan during which he reviewed the implementation ofthe Casa-1000 project.
During the meeting, he also underscored the importance of regionalintegration between the two countries through Pakistan’s ports and stressedthe need to further boost trade and investment.
Both sides also discussed the challenges faced by the humanitariansituation in war-torn Afghanistan while President also briefed his Tajikcounterpart about Islamabad’s efforts for peace and stability in theneighboring country.
Alvi also stressed that the frozen assets of Afghanistan should be restoredto avert economic collapse and discussed that there is a need to worktogether for peace, reconciliation, and stability in Kabul.
Furthermore, President Dr. Arif Alvi also called on Iranian President SeyedEbrahim Raisi, and Uzbek President Mr. Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyevon onthe sidelines of 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO)in Ashgabat today.
