RAWALPINDI – Nigel Casey, Director to Afghanistan, Pakistan & Iran forForeign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and UK’s SpecialRepresentative on Afghanistan & Pakistan (SRAP) called on Chief of ArmyStaff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Baiwa at GHQ, on Wednesday.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situationincluding the recent developments in Afghanistan were discussed, said ISPRin a statement.
Gen Bajwa said, “Pakistan values UK’s role in global and regional affairsand we look forward to enhance our bilateral relationship”.
COAS also reiterated the need for global convergence on Afghanistan foravoiding humanitarian crisis and coordinated efforts for economic uplift ofthe Afghan people. He re-emphasized that “Peace in Afghanistan means peacein Pakistan”.
