ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday said that thePakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Vice-President Maryam Nawaz is behind fakeand doctored audios that have recently surfaced on social media.
Addressing a press conference after a cabinet meeting, the informationminister said that the intention behind the videos is to pressurise thejudiciary.
“It is not the first time that they have released such audios,” he said inreference to an alleged audio of former chief justice Saqib Nisar.
Chaudhry expressed hope that the judiciary is going to reject the pressureand bring the case to a logical end.

“Maryam has a team that prepares videos, fake tapes and then leaks them.Maybe she is also behind the videos of her party members. In Pakistan’shistory, no political party has ever been involved in such derogatorypractice. We condemn this move,” he added.
The information minister said that the government will act in letter andspirit on any direction given by the court on this case.
