In India, the Sikh community has given the deadline of November 19 to theirgovernment for reopening of Kartarpur Corridor, to participate in the 552ndbirth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak in Pakistan.
The Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor Sangarash Committee, formed by Indian Sikhcommunity, has announced to raise the issue on international platforms iftheir demand was not met by the deadline.
According to Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, around 3000 visas havebeen issued to Indian Sikh Yatrees to participate in the 552nd birthanniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak in Pakistan from 17th to 26thof this month.
Thousands of Sikh Pilgrims residing in countries other than India wouldalso be visiting Pakistan to attend the event.
During their stay in Pakistan, the Sikh Yatrees would pay obeisance atdifferent Gurdwaras, including Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib andGurdawara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur.
Earlier, the Foreign Office spokesperson in Islamabad said the Corridor isopen from the Pakistan side and India is also expected to allow the Sikhpilgrims desiring to join the upcoming celebrations.
