Proscribed TLP announces long march towards Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The proscribed religio-political groupTehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has announced to march towards Islamabadafter Friday Prayers and stage a sit-in at Faizabad Interchange.

The TLP’s Shura (Council) has announced its workers and supporters willhead “peacefully” towards Islamabad from Lahore after Friday prayers onOctober 22.

The long-march aims at pressurizing the government to release the TLP ChiefSaad Hussain Rizvi, the son of late Khadim Hussain Rizvi, and expel theFrench Envoy.

Meanwhile, sources said that the Punjab government has deployed over 200policemen around Masjid Rehmatul-lil-Aalemeen on Multan Road in Lahore tomaintain law and order.

In the Federal Capital also, heavy contingents of Islamabad Police andRangers have been deployed at Faizabad Interchange to enforce preemptivesecurity measures in the wake of the TLP’s protest.
